In a self-defense encounter something will happen to you.  There is a hormone induced heart rate increase which we know as an Adrenalin dump.  This happens to everyone and is a normal response to a life or death encounter.

This Adrenalin Dump prepares you to fight, run, and or freeze.  This hormone boosts the supply of oxygen, glucose to the brain and muscles, while suppressing other non-emergency bodily processes, for example digestion.  This will speed up breathing to help supply our muscles with oxygen and glucose that is needed in an intense encounter.

Within 10 seconds we can have 100% muscle strength.  Now the biggest down fall of this is that it doesn't last forever.  Within 30 seconds it drops by 55%, after 30 seconds more it drops by another 35%, and after another 90 seconds, 30% more.

We need to control this response in order to survive.  We need to keep our heart rate between 115-145 bpm.  This range is the best for complex motor skills, visual reaction time, and cognitive reaction time.

As the heart rate increases past the 145 bpm, fine motor skills deteriorate.  By the time the heart rate reaches 175 bpm, we might freeze or exhibit submissive behavior.  You will have tunnel vision and bleeding from wounds will be reduced.  Your cognitive processing will deteriorate.

That is why some people never see the "how" to get out of a BAD situation that they are in.  Now at this range our gross motor skills, which are muscle strength, running, charging an attacker, and hitting/kicking are at their peak.  No finesse, just brute force.

Now you know what could happen to you in a situation of "Life or Death".  What would you do?  How would you do it to get out alive?  Think about the feeling knowing something BAD is going to happen.

The time to think about this is now!   Prepare yourself.
YOU MATTER!!!!

At the Self-Defense Clinic you will learn basic escape and abduction techniques that you can do regardless of your size or strength.
"Thank you for your instruction and patience with us. We feel like we have mastered some techniques and learned some really good tactics if we should ever be in a difficult situation."

"I appreciate the instructions given to us at the self-defense class.  With my daughter getting her driver's license soon, she will be on the road by herself:  driving to and getting out of a car alone at school, at the shopping center, possibly at work, and anywhere else she decides to drive herself.  The self-defense class came at just the right time during this transitional phase in our lives and it makes this mom feel more secure watching her daughter take flight with the knowledge you and your team have imparted to her.  I know we need to practice to keep it fresh in her mind (mine too!).   I'm sure we'll be looking for a refresher course in the future.  Thanks again"
